Monarc, Gamuda Gardens | A Modern Classic in Cream & Gold
Wainscoted walls, calacatta marble and brushed gold — with a lap pool running down the side of the house.
Monarc sits in Gamuda Gardens, and the brief leaned classic without wanting the weight of it. So the mouldings, wainscoting and cornices are all there — but rendered in one continuous cream, so the rooms read soft rather than formal.
The ground floor runs open from the entry console to the dining table and the curved living suite, under a pair of sculptural chandeliers — gold leaves over the sofas, a ribbon of light over the table. A stair with a glass balustrade climbs behind the dining room against a wall of book-matched calacatta, and the family lounge puts the television into a backlit onyx wall between brass-lined display shelves. The kitchen is a galley in high-gloss white with a calacatta splashback and worktop, dry and wet zones in one run, appliances kept black so the marble does the talking.
Down the side of the house the plan turns outward: a turquoise-tiled lap pool against a lit white brick wall, then stepping stones through massed planting to a timber-canopied BBQ terrace with its own outdoor kitchen — and a proper laundry room just inside the door. Upstairs, the master pairs a channel-pleated headboard wall with a walk-in wardrobe, a lit vanity and a glazed display wall for the handbag collection; two further bedrooms and a dark-timber study each get their own character without leaving the palette.

Soft Rooms, Sharp Details
The same few materials repeat through the whole house — cream panelled walls, calacatta marble, brushed gold and bouclé — so each room feels like a chapter of one story. What changes is the gesture: a pleated wall in the master, a wave relief in one bedroom, a backlit onyx niche in the lounge.

1. Living
Curves Under
A Gold Canopy
Curved bouclé sofas gather on a round rug beneath a chandelier of gilded leaves, and the television sits in a backlit onyx wall between brass-lined shelves. Nothing in the room has a hard corner.
2. Master
A Pleated Wall, A Green View
A channel-pleated headboard wall fans out behind the bed under a ring chandelier, and full-height glazing opens the room to the greens beyond. The walk-in wardrobe and lit vanity sit just behind it.
3. Kitchen
A Galley in
Gloss & Marble
Dry and wet kitchens share one high-gloss white run with a calacatta splashback and worktop trimmed in brass. The appliances are kept black, so the stone does the talking.
